How to Add a Thumbnail to Your Video in OneTake AI

A thumbnail is the preview image that represents your video before someone clicks to watch it. In OneTake AI you choose from four thumbnail styles, each controlling how your video is presented to viewers.

How to Access Thumbnail Settings

  1. Open your video project in OneTake AI
  2. Click Customize Video in the top right panel
  3. Scroll down and click Thumbnail to expand the section
  4. A dropdown and style selector will appear

Thumbnail Style Options

OneTake AI offers four thumbnail styles:

Dynamic (default) Presenter appears in the foreground with a parallax background effect. Best for talking head videos where you want the speaker to be the focal point.

Neutral Uses a discrete blurred background. Clean and minimal — good for professional or corporate content.

Custom Uses your own image as a discrete background behind the presenter. Use this when you want branded imagery or a specific scene as the background.

Audacious Displays your own uploaded image as the full thumbnail with nothing else. Use this when you have a fully designed custom thumbnail and want full control over what viewers see.

How to Apply a Thumbnail Style

  1. Open the Thumbnail section in Customize Video
  2. Click on the style you want — Dynamic, Neutral, Custom, or Audacious
  3. The selected style will be highlighted and applied to your video

Apply to All Future Videos

At the bottom of the Thumbnail section you will see: "Apply this setting to the thumbnails of all my future videos"

Check this box if you want OneTake AI to automatically use your chosen thumbnail style for every new video you create going forward.

Notes

  • You can change your thumbnail style at any time without re-uploading your video
  • Changing the thumbnail does not affect the video content or transcript
  • Custom and Audacious styles require you to upload your own image
