# How to choose and manage soundtrack options in OneTake AI

OneTake AI gives you multiple ways to control background music in your video. These options are available directly inside the editor and allow you to decide whether music is added automatically, manually controlled, or not used at all.

## Where to find the soundtrack options
All soundtrack settings are located inside the **Customize Video** panel. To access them:
1. Open your video project
2. Click **Customize Video**
3. Scroll down to the **Soundtrack** section
You will see a dropdown labeled:** “Should OneTake AI play a subtle music track on this video?”** This dropdown controls how music behaves for the current video.

## Understanding the soundtrack options

### Option 1: Yes – Compose a track for me
This option allows OneTake AI to automatically generate a background music track for your video.
When selected, OneTake AI composes a soundtrack designed to sit subtly under your spoken audio. The goal is to enhance the video without distracting from the voice.

**How this works**
• Music is generated automatically
• No manual track selection is required
• The soundtrack adapts to the video length
• Volume can still be adjusted

**When to use this option**
• You want background music quickly,
• You do not want to manually manage music
• You are creating educational, informational, or talking-head content
• You want a consistent, low effort setup

**What to expect**
• Music is intentionally subtle by default
• The soundtrack supports the video rather than leading it
• You can still change the volume level

| This option is best for users who prefer automation and simplicity.

### Option 2: Yes – I want to direct a custom track
This option gives you more control over how music is handled in your video. When selected, a music waveform appears in the Soundtrack section, allowing you to preview and manage the track more directly.

**How this differs from AI composed music**
• You actively choose to manage the soundtrack
• You can preview the track before saving
• You control how prominent the music feels

**Track preview behavior**
• Use the play button next to the waveform to preview the music
• Preview helps confirm the soundtrack is playing correctly
• Preview does not finalize changes until you save

**Volume control**
You can choose from multiple volume levels:
• Very Quiet
• Subtle – International Standard (Recommended)
• Clearly Present
• Very Loud
• Blast My Ears
For most voice-led videos, the recommended setting is **Subtle – International Standard**.

| This option is ideal if you want more control without fully removing music.

### Option 3: No – Don’t play music
This option completely disables background music for the video. When selected, no soundtrack will play in previews, exports, or shared versions of the video.

**When silence is recommended**
• Formal presentations
• Interviews
• Training or instructional content
• Videos where clarity of speech is critical
• Content where music may feel distracting

**What happens to previously added music**
• Any existing soundtrack is removed from the video
• Music will no longer play unless re enabled
• You can switch back to another option at any time

|| Turning music off does not affect your script, visuals, or timing.

## What happens when you change soundtrack options

Changing the soundtrack option updates how music is handled for the **current video only**. Important things to know:
• Changes apply after clicking **Save**
• Switching options does not delete your video
• Volume settings can be adjusted after choosing an option
• Music behavior updates in previews and exports

|| If you switch between options, OneTake AI will update the soundtrack behavior based on your latest selection.

## Choosing the right option

Use this as a simple guide:
• Choose **Compose a track for me** if you want speed and automation
• Choose **Direct a custom track** if you want control and previewing
• Choose **Don’t play music** if your video is voice focused or formal
All options are reversible, and you can experiment freely while editing.
