Uploading Existing Videos into OneTake
You can upload any existing video you have and use it directly inside OneTake. Whether your footage is stored on your computer, phone, or a connected cloud service, OneTake allows you to bring that video into a new project and begin editing immediately.
Ways you can upload your video
When you start a new project, OneTake presents multiple import options. You can choose whichever is most convenient for where your video is stored:
- My Device – Upload a video file from your computer or mobile device
- Camera – Record a new video using your device’s camera
- Audio – Upload an audio-only file
- Screencast – Record your screen through OneTake
- Google Drive – Import a file stored in your Drive
- Google Photos – Import from your Google Photos library
- Link – Import through a supported video link
- YouTube – Import any YouTube video you have access to
- Dropbox – Import from your Dropbox storage
- Zoom – Import a Zoom recording
Any uploaded or imported file automatically becomes a new project.
Supported formats and resolution
OneTake accepts standard video formats that are commonly produced by phones and cameras, including:
- MP4
- MOV
- AVI
- WMV
The system processes videos in HD resolution.
4K and HDR videos are not supported.
What happens after your video is uploaded
Once the file is imported, OneTake begins preparing it for editing. Depending on the settings you have enabled, the system may:
- Improve audio
- Generate subtitles
- Remove filler words
- Trim silences
- Apply your saved instructions
- Apply your custom vocabulary
- Apply the virtual cameraman
You do not need to run these steps manually; they apply automatically based on your preferences.
Tools available after processing
When the upload and preparation are complete, OneTake shows a Later section that includes optional tools you can use at any time:
- Shorts Suggestions – OneTake analyzes your video and highlights moments that can be turned into short-form clips
- Video Translation – Translate your video into other languages, depending on your plan
These tools remain available throughout your project, even after you make further edits.
