How To Translate Your Videos Using OneTake

OneTake allows you to create translated versions of an existing video directly from the editor. Translations are generated from your original video and appear as separate versions under the same project.

Where to find Translations

Inside an open project, the Translations option is available in the top toolbar.

Click Translations to open the translation panel. This is where all translated versions of the video are managed.

How voice dubbing works

When OneTake translates a video, it uses your pre-recorded voice to dub the entire translated video by default.

This means:

• The translated version keeps your voice
• Speech timing is adjusted to match the translated language
• The result is a dubbed video, not just subtitles

Recording your voice sample

Before creating a translation, OneTake may prompt you to record a voice sample.

Click Record your voice sample now and follow the on-screen instructions.

For best results:

• Record in a quiet environment
• Speak clearly at a natural pace
• Use a consistent microphone if possible

This voice sample is used to generate accurate and natural-sounding dubbing in other languages.

Creating a translation

To create a translated version:

1. Click Translations in the project toolbar
2. Confirm or record your voice sample if prompted
3. Choose the target language from the list
4. Click Create new translation

Once created, the translation enters a processing state.

Translation status and processing

Each translation shows a status in the list:

• Queued: Translation is waiting to be processed
• Processing: OneTake is generating the translated video
• Published: The translated version is complete and available

Processing time depends on video length and system load. You can leave the page while processing continues.

Managing translated videos

Each translated version:

• Appears under the same project
• Has its own title and language label
• Can be viewed, shared, or exported independently
• Does not overwrite the original video

You can create multiple translations for the same video, one language at a time.

What translations include

Translated versions retain:

• The original video structure
• Visual style and layout
• Edits and pacing from the original version

The main change is the spoken language through voice dubbing.

Things to remember.

• Translations work on existing videos inside a project
• A valid translation allowance must be available on your plan
• Voice quality affects translation quality
• Each translation is processed separately
