Can I upload a PowerPoint file to OneTake?
At this time, OneTake does not support uploading PowerPoint files (.ppt or .pptx). The platform is designed to work with video and audio formats only, and PowerPoint files cannot be imported or converted directly inside OneTake.
When you start a new project, the upload options available are:
- My Device (video/audio files)
- Camera
- Audio
- Screencast
- Google Drive
- Google Photos
- Link
- YouTube
- Dropbox
- Zoom
None of these import methods accept PowerPoint files, and the interface does not display any option for uploading or converting presentation formats.

What you can do instead
If you want to use a PowerPoint presentation in your video, here are the supported alternatives:
1. Export your PowerPoint as a video
PowerPoint allows you to export a slideshow as an MP4 video file. Once exported, you can upload the MP4 file to OneTake using the My Device option.
2. Record your screen while presenting
You can present your slides and record your screen using:
- Screencast (built into OneTake)
- Any external screen recorder, then upload the resulting video
This creates a standard video file that OneTake can process.
3. Export individual slides as images
PowerPoint slides can be exported as PNG or JPG images.
You can then include these images in your video using another editing tool before importing the final video into OneTake.
Why PowerPoint files are not supported
OneTake’s upload system is intentionally focused on video and audio formats, such as:
- MP4
- MOV
- M4A
- MP3
- WebM
- AVI (depending on encoder)
Supporting PowerPoint would require converting non-video presentation files into a video format, which OneTake does not perform internally.
Summary
- ❌ PowerPoint files cannot be uploaded to OneTake
- ✔ You must convert your presentation into a video format (recommended)
- ✔ Or record your slides using Screen Recording / Screencast
- ✔ OneTake supports HD video uploads from many sources, but not .ppt or .pptx files
If direct PowerPoint support is ever added, this article will be updated.
