Managing Video Titles, Author Name, and Descriptions in OneTake

OneTake allows you to define key video details that are used when your video is displayed, shared, embedded, or published. These details help viewers understand what the video is about, who created it, and how it should be presented across platforms. Video details can be edited at any time before exporting or sharing your video.

What Are Video Details in OneTake?

Video details include the following fields:

  • Project name
  • Video title
  • Author name
  • Video description
Each field serves a specific purpose and is used differently depending on where the video is viewed or shared.

Project Name

The project name is for internal use only.

  • It is only visible to you inside OneTake
  • It helps you recognize and organize projects in your dashboard
  • It does not appear in the exported video or player

This is useful when you manage multiple versions, clients, or ongoing video projects.

Video Title

The video title is visible to viewers.

  • It appears in the video when supported by the selected style
  • It is shown in the OneTake Player
  • It is included when sharing or embedding the video

A clear and descriptive title helps viewers immediately understand the topic of the video and improves how the video appears when shared.

Author Name

The author name identifies who created or is presenting the video.

  • It can appear visually in the video depending on the selected style
  • It is visible in the OneTake Player
  • It helps establish credibility and ownership of the content

This is commonly used for personal branding, expert content, courses, and business videos.

Video Description

The description provides written context about the video.

  • It is used when sharing the video link
  • It appears in the OneTake Player
  • It supports rich text formatting, including clickable links

The description is especially useful for:

  • Explaining what the video covers
  • Adding calls to action
  • Linking to external pages or resources
  • Supporting translations and accessibility

Accessibility and Language Support

The video description plays an important role in accessibility and multilingual use.

  • It provides a readable summary of the video content
  • It can be translated into other languages alongside video translations
  • It helps viewers who prefer or require text-based context

This is particularly helpful for international audiences and translated versions of a video.

Where to Edit Video Details

To edit video details in OneTake:

  1. Open your project
  2. Go to Preview the result
  3. On the right-hand panel, click Video Details
  4. Update the project name, video title, author name, or description
  5. Click Save changes

Changes are applied immediately and reflected in sharing and embedding views.

Using the Same Details for Future Videos

If you want to reuse the same structure or format:

  • Enable Always write my project details in this style

This helps maintain consistency across multiple videos, especially for series, courses, or branded content.

How Video Details Are Used When Sharing

When you share or embed a video using the OneTake Player:

  • The video title and author name help identify the content
  • The description is displayed below or alongside the video
  • Clickable links in the description remain active when using the OneTake Player
These details are not embedded into the raw MP4 file itself but are fully supported in OneTake’s hosted and embedded playback experience.
