Using The Virtual CameraMan Feature On OneTakeAi

Virtual Cameraman is a video enhancement feature in OneTake that automatically adjusts framing during editing to keep the speaker properly positioned in the video. It helps improve how videos look without requiring manual cropping or camera movement during recording. This feature is especially useful for videos recorded with webcams, laptop cameras, or static setups where framing may not be ideal.

What Virtual Cameraman Does

When Virtual Cameraman is enabled, OneTake:

  • Detects the main speaker in the video
  • Adjusts framing to keep the subject centered
  • Reduces unnecessary empty space in the frame
  • Improves consistency across the entire video
All adjustments are applied digitally during editing. The original video file is not altered.

What Virtual Cameraman Does Not Do

Virtual Cameraman does not:

  • Move a physical camera
  • Zoom in or out aggressively
  • Add new visual elements
  • Replace video styles or layouts
  • Change lighting, background, or audio
It focuses only on framing and positioning of the subject already present in the video.

Where to Find Virtual Cameraman

Virtual Cameraman is available inside the video editor.

To access it:

  1. Open a video project
  2. Click Customize Video
  3. Scroll to the Virtual cameraman section
  4. Toggle Enabled on or off
There is also an option to apply this setting to all future videos if desired.

When Virtual Cameraman Is Applied

Virtual Cameraman is applied during video processing after recording or upload.

  • It works on uploaded videos and recordings created inside OneTake
  • It is applied as part of the editing pipeline
  • Changes appear in the preview once processing is complete
If Virtual Cameraman is disabled, the video keeps its original framing.

Best Use Cases

Virtual Cameraman works best when:

  • A single speaker is visible on camera
  • The speaker moves slightly during recording
  • The camera was not perfectly aligned when recording
  • The video is intended for talking-head or presentation-style formats

It can also be used for interviews or multi-speaker videos, but results depend on how subjects are positioned in the frame.

Using Virtual Cameraman With Other Features

Virtual Cameraman can be used together with:

  • Gaze Correction
  • Background Removal
  • Video styles and layouts
  • Subtitles and translations
  • Audio remastering

Each feature operates independently, allowing you to fine-tune how your video looks and feels.

Controlling Virtual Cameraman Behavior

You can:

  • Enable or disable it per video
  • Apply it to future videos automatically
  • Combine it with gaze correction for stronger on-camera presence

If you prefer full manual control over framing, simply leave Virtual Cameraman disabled.
